ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the efficacy and safety of photodynamic therapy (PDT) combined with oral isotretinoin in the treatment of moderate to severe acne. Methods:Ninty patients with moderate and severe acne [42 males and 48 females; aged 18-35 (23.98±4.25)] in the Department of Dermatology, China Japan Friendship Hospital of Jilin University from January to June, 2018, were divided into three groups: PDT combined with isotretinoin group (combined group), PDT group and isotretinoin group, with 30 patients in each group. The curative effect was evaluated on the 30th and 60th day of the treatment and the follow-up was carried out regularly. Results:At 10, 20, and 30 days of the treatment, the clearance rates of non-inflammatory skin lesions and total skin lesions were better than that of the PDT group; the clearance rates of inflammatory, non-inflammatory and total skin lesions in the combined group were better than those of the isotretinoin group. At 30 days of treatment, the efficacy of the combined group was better than that of the PDT group (χ 2=13.169, P<0.05) and isotretinoin group (χ 2=19.606, P<0.05). The treatment course of the combined group was shorter than that of the PDT group ( P<0.05). Six months after the treatment, the recurrence rate of the combined group was lower than that of the isotretinoin group (χ 2=4.941, P<0.05). And there was no significant difference of the incidence of adverse reactions between the above two groups ( P>0.05). Conclusions:The combination of photodynamic therapy and oral isotretinoin therapy for moderate to severe acne can improve the efficacy, shorten the course of treatment, and reduce the recurrence rate and adverse reactions, which provides a new idea for the treatment of acne.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To compare the efficacy and adverse reactions between intralesional betamethasone injection combined with botulinum toxin type A and topical hyaluronic acid and simple intralesional betamethasone injection and topical hyaluronic acid in treatment of keloid. Methods:A total of 58 patients with keloid were divided into two groups: intralesional betamethasone injection combined with botulinum toxin type A and topical hyaluronic acid group (combined group, n=28) and intralesional betamethasone injection combined with topical hyaluronic acid group (control group, n=30).In both two groups, the intralesional betamethasone injection was given once every 4 weeks for 3 times totally, and topical hyaluronic acid was applied every day.In combined group, an injection of botulinum toxin type A was given around the lesion after the first intralesional injection of betamethasone. The parameters for therapeutic efficacy and adverse reactions of the patients in two groups were recorded, and the clinical pictures were taken before and after each treatment, and they were analyzed and compared. Results:After 3 treatments, compared with control group, the lesion appearance in combined group was improved. In control group, the VAS value was reduced at 1 month, but was increased gradually at 2 and 3 months. In combined group, the VAS value was reduced gradually in 3 months. There was a significant difference in VAS value at 2 and 3 months between two groups (P0.05).Conclusion:Compared with control group, the combined group shows better efficiency in the treatment of keloid and there is no increase of adverse reactions. The therapy is worthy of clinical application.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To evaluate the clinical therapeutic efficacy and safety of red-blue light irradiation combined with Xihuang Capsules in the treatment of moderate to severe acne vulgaris. Methods:Eighty patients with moderate to severe acne vulgaris were randomly divided into Xihuang Capsules group (control group)and red-blue light irradiation combined with Xihuang Capsules group (observation group). The patients in observation group were treated with red-blue light irradiation (20 min biw,4 weeks)combined with Xihuang Capsules (1.5 g bid,4 weeks),while the patients in control group took only Xihuang Capsules orally (1.5 g bid,4 weeks),The changes of skin lesions and adverse reactions were observed and the curative efficacies were compared at 2 or 4 weeks after treatment. Results:After 2-week-treatment,the total effective rate in observation group was 67.5% while the total effective rate in control group was 52.5%,there was no statistically significant difference between two groups (P >0.05).The regression number of inflammatory and non-inflammatory skin lesions in observation group was significantly higher than that in control group (P <0.05).After 4-week-treatment,the total effective rate in observation group was significantly higher than that in control group (85.0% vs 65.0% ),and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05);the regression number of inflammatory and non-inflammatory skin lesions in observation group was significantly higher than that in control group (P <0.05).During the treatment, there were no severe adverse reactions in two groups.Mild headache and nausea occurred in observation group after red-blue light irradiation, but the above symptoms disappeared after reducing the irradiation dose.Conclusion:Red-blue light irradiation combined with Xihuang Capsules in the treatment of moderate to severe acne is proved to be a significantly effective and safe method, and it is worth to be promoted in clinic.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the distribution of Sporothrix in natural environment in Jilin province. Methods Specimens of decayed reed, corn stalks, rotten wood and soil from areas of high incidence rate of sporotricosis (Tongyu county and Nongan county) and low incidence rate (Tumen county) were randomly collected, cultured and subcultured for sporothrix, and the isolates were identified. Results 21 strains of Sporothrix schenckii were isolated and identified. It is the first report that Sporothrix is isolated from corn stalks, rotten wood and soil in our country and is the first report in the world that Sporothrix is isolated from corn stalks. Conclusion The results of study show that there are parasitic Sporothrix schenckii in the reed, corn stalks, rotten wood and soil in the region with high incidence rate of sporotrichosis, and parasitic Sporothrix schenckii in the reed and rotten wood have also been found in the region with low incidence rate. The finding of biological distribution of Sporothrix in the province is of great significance for the prevention and treatment of sporothrichosis.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To identify the HLA-DRB alleles associated with vitiligo and psoriasis in Chinese Han people of Jilin region.Methods:HLA-DRB alleles of 82 vitiligo patients and 80 psoriasis vulgaris patients were detected by polymerase chain reaction sequence-specific primer(PCR-SSP),under the comparison with 86 healthy persons.Results:①The frequence of HLA-DRB1* 07 and HLA-DRB1*12 alleles increased obviously in vitiligo group compared with control group(P
